JKLF Leader S M Afzal arrested in Kupwara, Kashmir (08 Nov. 08)
Srinagar, Nov 9: Indian Army on
Saturday arrested the senior leader of Jammu and Kashmir
Liberation Front, Sheikh Muhammad Afzal from frontier district
of Kupwara.
A JKLF spokesman in a statement here said that police raided
his house at Tregham friday morning and whisked him away to an
unknown destination. S.M. Afzal who is Senior Vice chairman of
JKLF has been campaigning for the boycott of elections in
District Kupwara. He made a very resounding speech in Jamia
Masjid Trehgam on Friday asking people to boycott the
elections.
JKLF Zonal President in Srinagar Ghulam Qadir Rathar while
condemning the arrest of S M Afzal said that it is the utter
frustration of the authorities. He termed the arrest of S M
Afzal undemocratic, unrealistic and against the basic human
rights of the people.
Ghulam Qadir Rathar called on the Indian government to
immediately release S M Afzal and many other leaders who have
been arrested in order to stop the massive public
demonstrations and peaceful processions against the election
in Kashmir.
The JKLF leader called on the international community the
check the excesses that the Indian occupation forces have
unleashed on the people of Kashmir over the past month. He
reiterated that peaceful struggle for right of self
determination will continue despite nefarious and violent
methods of suppression by the Indian state against the people
of Kashmir.

organized demonstration outside Indian High Commission London
on 15th August 2008. Kashmiris in UK
observed India's 61st Independence day as Black
Day. Demonstrators from
almost all parts of Britain gathered in front of
Indian High Commission in London where they
shouted slogans against Human Rights abuses by Indian troops
in Kashmir. The demonstrators were holding play
cards and banners. The objective of the protest, led by Prof.
Zafar Khan and Haji Rauf Khan, was to draw world attention
towards the gross human rights abuses by Indian forces in
Kashmir and
killing of innocent protestors by Indian Army.

JKLF stage demonstration against “Unmarked Graves” .

Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF)
on Sunday
staged a demonstration in front of Indian High Commission,
London against the revelation of nearly 1,000 graves in
Kashmir. Demonstrators from almost all parts of Britain,
including women and children, gathered in front of Indian High
Commission in London where they shouted slogans against Human
Rights abuses by troops in Kashmir. The demonstrators were
holding placards and banners. The objective of the protest was
to draw world attention towards the discovery of the
unidentified graves, forced disappearances and custodial
killings of innocent Kashmiris.

(Peterborough April14, 2008): Jammu Kashmir Liberation
Front (JKLF), UK Zone,
has strongly
condemned the revelation
of nearly 1000 unmarked graves in Kashmir and has demanded an
independent and impartial inquiry into the matter. In a
unanimously adapted resolution at its Executive Committee
meeting here, tributes were paid to the martyrs of the freedom struggle who became the victims of ‘India’s brutal occupation
over the decades’. In other resolution, the unity efforts of JKLF Supreme Head, Amanullah Khan, were also endorsed by the
Zonal body and it was decided to carry forward his ideas of
unified struggle for the peaceful settlement of the Kashmir
