>> KRDF's first School was
built and opened in Upper Namnotta in Rawalakot. This school has
four classrooms, office, bathroom, and 100 sq. metre playground.
One computer, and one teacher are provided by KRDF and four
teachers by the government. The management of the school is
jointly by KRDF and Government.
>> A Primary School has been
constructed at Challa Bani near Kamsar Refugee Camp in Muzaffarabad. It has
four
classrooms, one office, a veranda, and two bathrooms.
>> Two more schools have
been built by KRDF in 2008. One in Patika near Muzaffarabad and other
one in Rera near Bagh. Patika School was inaugrated on 11th May
2008. In total we have built 4 Schools so far. All these
schools are up and running now.
>> FIVE Vocational Training
Centres, funded by Kashmir Education Trust (KET), have also been
set up by KRDF.
>> Management and running
costs of three of these centres is on a shared basis with KET
while TWO centres have been handed over to KRDF for sole
management. These Centres are located at Makiala Ghirkot, Ravli,
Barian, Birpani, and Panyali areas of District Bagh.
>> Further Seven VTC's for women have been set up by
KRDF at Dawarian Neelum Valley, Kathieley Muzaffarabad, Sena
Daman Jehlum Valley and Kaigala Rawlakot. In total we have
established 12 VTC's so far. All these VTC's are run and
managed professionally by KRDF.
>> We intend to establish
10 more in year 2008-09 for which we need the sponsors.
>> A
computer training centre set up by KET is also managed jointly
with KRDF in Bagh.
>>
Four water supply project are under construction in
remote villages of Azad Kashmir. One in Banjosa
near Rawalakot will be ready soon. Many more projects like these are in pipeline.
Each VTC has between
15-20 Sewing Machines each with its own table and chairs,
scissors, a generator, and a teacher. The rooms for the centres
are rented or donated. Running cost of each centre is £1000 per
annum.

>> Misery and suffering still continues.
>> Majority of children are still without school
buildings.
>> Severe conditions prevail during winter and summer.
